Do Not Judge My Chains!

Do Not Judge My Chains: A Life Circle and Special Poem of Hope: About Love and Not Judging Others; by Pearldiver. It's amazing how we are not always right in our preconceived ideas of someone; especially if we ignore our own faults. This is all about a guy whose friend, a girl, is someone who never learned how to not be judgmental of others. In him, she finds that he knows her inner self better than she does. As a result, he spares nothing in telling her of her shortcomings, her coldness and her needs to change, if she wishes to find love. She listens to him and the more she understands him; the more open she becomes to understanding herself.

For him, he gets to show both her and himself that he is not going to allow himself to be controlled by the perceived chains that others use to judge him. To do this he must firstly have is friend change the way that she looks at him and have her look honestly at herself. For the first time then, complete honesty takes them to a level of friendship that neither could foreseen. Love is a hard subject to write about when the words just want to ride off the page and follow the heart given them by the author. I hope that I have held them here, without chains, just long enough for you to read and enjoy! So please enjoy: 'Do Not Judge My Chains' by Pearldiver.

Please Note: To Appreciate this poem please read it at a slow pace - hahaha - it was written slowly!

It's amazing how many people live their lives with an outlook that filters out the true colors of life. Many are experts in judging those who have the ability to color the lives of others, even though they have no idea what colors they are missing!
It's amazing how many people live their lives with an outlook that filters out the true colors of life. Many are experts in judging those who have the ability to color the lives of others, even though they have no idea what colors they are missing!

Chains He's Forced To Wear.

Do Not Judge Any Man By The

Do not judge any man by the chains he wears

For he may be your next husband’s lover

Do not judge any stranger, or think you are that wise

For he may be your unknown father

Perhaps a brother or your nemesis perhaps

Standing here before you; within his chained disguise

Can you hear the tears of a mute man?

Do you even care to try?

Because, you speak of caring

You speak of love

But you never feel; or learned, what it is to cry

Do not judge others by your sense of order

For all people were not made so to be

Do not judge my heart with such detachment

For my friendship is not merely a placebo for your pain

Such hurtful feelings fall hard, like raining acorns

Their echoes lost; to falseness they can not dent

Can you describe colors to a blind child?

Do you sense the depth of blue?

Because, you speak of wisdom

You speak of love

But you take away chance; its chance to grow in you

Do you even understand your expectations?

Foolish prejudged values, measured only by you

Do you even know what being in love is, at all?

For those seeds you sowed, fell on fertile ground

As you searched for perfection; true flawlessness

High standards we’ll never find in you; as you’re not that tall

Can you say words only deaf friends could hear?

Do you know how to sign “I care?”

Because, you speak of truth

You speak of love

But in you, these things; in you, they just aren’t there!

So do not judge the chains that you feel I wear

Even though you may think, you know me well

Look at yourself from within the soul that I can see

Find the emptiness where humility is meant to be

Look at the hollow space within your unloving heart

Then find in your heart reason, to become judgment free

So can you be taught how to walk by a crippled man?

Can you believe that he found love in you?

Because, you spoke of dancing

You gave him hope

But he won’t understand it, if you don’t learn, how to be true

Now others will judge you by all the steps and moves you make

Can you learn to love without judging broken chains?

Because, he speaks of forever

And speaks of loving you

In love he can dance endlessly and in love maybe learn, to walk again

Hi Someway, thanks for reading this work and your awesome comments. But isn't writing thought provoking poetry the main reason why we write poems Someway? Hahaha I'll have to do one on motorbike bees, from the bees perspective perhaps? You Take Care..

Me and alternate poet like this one :) With my critical hat on - I think it might benefit from shortening a bit - but then I have a short attention span so it might justbe me :D

Hi China Man and AP, thanks for reading this work and for.. ummmm... doing so with your pointy critic's hat on.. hahaha.. Perhaps you are right that yes, I could have shortened this poem for your little attention span... and yes, I did seriously consider that!! But.. had I done so, I would have had to cut the bottom off one of my long pics, just to balance and compensate for your damn lack of focus!! Hahaha.. Have a good one mate!

Oh dear. Must the judged and controlled become the judger and controller?

It's beautifully written & presented, but the premise bears examination, in my humble opinion.

Pearldiver profile image

Pearldiver Hub Author 18 months ago

Hi Nellieanna, thanks for taking the time to read this. While I appreciate your comments, I don't think there's anything humble about your opinion here! "But the premise bears examination, in my humble opinion! What sort nasty snake remark is that on my page? From another poet - interesting intimation!

Nellieanna.. You completely misrepresent this work and yourself with such a snigger! Oh dear? Oh Dear Indeed! This is MY Writing Style... If you consider it to be Sub-Standard in some Respect - then thats your call.. but don't Judge My Work and Then Mark It by Your Standards On My Page Thank you very much!! Did you Not pick up that within the premise? Take Care. It is amazing alright how often we do evaluate people wrongly.. I initially thought you to be a nice person!

I belive this to be superb poetry and I like everything about it from the idea and all the twists and implications (philosophical and practical) to the artistic form of it.

Hello Petra, Thank You for that. This poem was written to be read line by line - slowly! That makes the complete difference.. short of putting music to the words.. I don't know how to show my readers the pace and pulse of the poem. Given the words, isn't that ironic? Thank you for honoring my poetry with the very good eye, tempo and wisdom of a great poet - which of course you are! Take Care.. and Be Well Petra.

As always, beautiful!

Do you know how to sign “I care?” - guess the answer to that is all that matters!

Pearldiver profile image

Pearldiver Hub Author 18 months ago

Hi Shalini, thanks for reading this poem and your kind comment. Nicely said. So many just choose not to bother talking to others in this world. As a kiwi.. we talk to everyone.. it doesn't matter what color or how many arms you have.. we are just like that and find it hard to understand why the rest of the world doesn't communicate like us. And signing... of course. See? I'm talking too much now... Take care.

Well, while I have never been a huge fan of long poems, I admit that is my preference not a fault on the writer's behalf. But this wasn't a long poem to me...I took your advice "read slowly...it was written slowly.." and realized to me it is several short poems sharing a common thread and goal. Well done!! I am new to hubpages, and have many questions about posting and safeguarding my work. If it isn't too much of a bother would you mind giving me a few pointers, or point me in the general direction to answers. Thank you in advance. -Paul

Hi LVidoni, thanks for taking the time to read this poem of hope and for your compliment. I'm glad that you enjoyed this work. Clearly having had experience of situations like this, then I'm sure you have been able to rise above many negative influences others would use to hold you down. Good luck - don't look back and take care.
